‘He’s changed my life’: Roosters coach heaps praise on key figure ahead of Grand Final

Trent Robinson is thanking a Roosters legend for shaping his career and his life ahead of this weekend’s Grand Final.

In just seven seasons, the 42-year-old has become one of the most successful coaches in the NRL era having won two titles and four minor premierships.

On Sunday his side is hoping to become the first back to back premiers since the early 1990s when they take on Canberra at ANZ Stadium.

Robinson tells Alan Jones he’s thoroughly enjoying all that Grand Final week has to offer but is focused on the 80 minutes that count.

“I love everything that goes with the week but, as you know, the focus is on the game.”

When asked about the influence Roosters Chairman Nick Politis has had on the club, Robinson reveals just how important he’s been.

“We’re really lucky… he could be doing lots of different things… but he chooses to put a lot of time and effort into the game of rugby league and the Roosters.

“He’s changed my life and he’s really laid the platform for success here.”
