Sydney shivers as temperatures plummet

Article image for Sydney shivers as temperatures plummet

Sydney has shivered through another bitterly cold morning.

Yesterday marked the city’s coldest July day in 11 years.

Records have been broken at Sydney’s south-west overnight with Camden reaching minus 4.9 degrees at 7.20am while Campbelltown dropped to a bone-aching minus 3.7 degrees.

In Sydney’s north-west, Richmond plummeted to minus 4.3 degrees.

Ray Hadley listener Daniel lives at South Windsor and got a shock when he went to check his dog’s water bowl (pictured above).

Earthmover Brenden got in touch from Darlington Point in the New South Wales Riverina.

“I have been in the industry for 27 years.

“It was that cold as I was driving the machine, the grill on the bonnet was freezing up (see picture below).

“In all my years earthmoving I have never seen this happen.”
